Stockholm

 The Drottningholm Palace, Stockholm Sweden

The Drottningholm Palace is the private residence of the Swedish royal family.  In 1991 Drottningholm was the first Swedish attraction put on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.

These cards came from my mother-in-law to our children in the 80's.

This is my entry for Maria's "Postcards for the Weekend" on her "Connections to the World-blog" and the theme for this week is "Reflections on the water".

Your pictures reminded me of a trip to Stockholm, some years ago. It's a beautiful city, as we can appreciate on these beautiful pictures.

I like the rainy day, not so usual to see on a postcard.

Oh my! I'm so heartbroken for not being able to go back to Sweden this year . I was scheduled to go earlier this month but the trip was cancelled. I'm grateful for these views of Stockholm; balm for my ache for Sweden! :D

I posted a day view e-postcard of Drottningholm last year: http://lostforwords101.blogspot.com/2015/04/q-is-for-queens-islet-palace-sweden.html?m=0
