Maps

Germany map comes from Jens in Duisburg. He writes about the Ruhr region:  in Ruhr area people have a saying: "Glück Auf!" Originally it was good luck wishes for miners to find ore. The greeting also expressed the desire that miners would return safely from the mine after their shift.
Today it is still a common form of greeting in the Ore Mountains region of eastern Germany.

The whole world

I'm delighted to spot several icons and landscapes on the German map, to which I have a corresponding postcard in my collection. Probably Germany is the country from where I received the most postcards. The world map is very interesting, I wonder how its artist picked the icon for each place on the map. Thanks so much for sharing!
