The San Marino Historic Centre is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in San Marino. It is also the capital city of San Marino. It is recognized for its cultural importance in San Marino. It served as a refugee for Christians during the time of Roman persecution and named as the oldest republic in Europe. Towers were built due to the Crusades and has become an iconic landmark in San Marino today.
