Vineyards

Lavaux, Vineyard Terraces
This beautiful view came from Edith in Lausanne.
Distance: 2,039 km
Travel time: 8 days

The steep slopes and terraced vineyards of Lavaux on the northern shores of Lake Geneva form one of the best-known wine producing regions of Switzerland. The Lavaux appellation area is 830 hectare and spread over 23 communities between Lausanne and Chateau de Chillon past Montreux in Villeneuve. Visitors can enjoy fantastic views of the vineyards, Lake Geneva, and the Alps.
Terraces have been protected by UNESCO since 2007.

Lavaux on viininviljelyalue Sveitsissä Vaud’n kantonissa, Genevejärven pohjoisrannalla. Alue on Unescon maailmanperintökohde.

The Wolf Cave (Susiluola) is Karijoki’s main attraction for tourists and locals. This is a geological result after million years of climate changes. It consists on a wide horizontal fissure of the rock and it is named after its location on Wolf Mountain (Susivuori). This has a very important impact on the Scandinavian prehistory studies because investigators are convinced that the Neanderthal men habitated this cave.
