Wladimir Goichman (1903 Odessa - 2001 Turku) was a Soviet Neurosurgeon, explorer and painter. He has lived in Finland since 1972 until his death. During World War II, Goichman worked as a brain surgeon in the Soviet Union. He participated in several Arctic explorations, and his paintings featuring Arctic landscapes have been featured in numerous art exhibitions and museums.
Hooker Island is one of the central islands of Franz Josef Land. It is located in the central area of the archipelago. It is administered by the Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia.
