Muonio Church
Designed by Architect Charles Bass, the church was constructed in 1817 as a so-called semi-cruciform church and managed to survive being burned down in the Lapland War. The altar painting “Jesus Among Folk” was painted by Anton Lindfors and depicts a rainbow in an undulating fell landscape setting. The monument in the church grounds “War Calls” was designed by Artist Viljo Aalto. The church is open to the public in the summer Sun-Thu at 11-16.
