Local Museum

Haapala house
Museum in Jurva from 1965, before that it was my great aunt's family home from 1874. Most old farm houses look like this in Southern Ostrobothnia region,  all painted in red.

This postcard is traveling to China for Yuyu in Peijing.

The church of Jurva was built in 1802, It is a cross-shaped church in the Gustavian style.  The church seats 550 people.

Jurva Churc
Jurva church was constructed by Gabriel Antinpoika Hakola and finished by Jaakko Jaaksi. The church was ready in 1802.

Jurva is a village located in the region of Southern Ostrobothnia.

Kokkola is a town and municipality of Finland. The town is located in the Central Ostrobothnia region. The municipality is bilingual with 84.2% being Finnish and 13.9% Swedish speakers.
Kokkola celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2020.


Greetings from Jurva (2004)
Jurva is a former municipality of Finland. It was consolidated to Kurikka on 1 January 2009.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southern Ostrobothnia region. The municipality was unilingually Finnish.
